Pillow Hands, Heavy Feet Reading Series with Wong Kit Yi, David Boyce, Mario Bobbio, Karen Cheung, Tiffany Tam, Lam Tung Pang, Blessy Man & Ysabelle Cheung, Eunice Tsang

How does one process—or exist in—collective change? 23 local and diaspora artists, musicians, poets and cultural workers ruminate on this in Pillow Hands, Heavy Feet (2019), which chronicles the last six months in Hong Kong. Independently published by editor Ysabelle Cheung and art book press Sulla Fuffa (Eunice Tsang), the zine oscillates between humor and grief, rage and isolation as the contributors share artistic strategies of the current social movement and the ways in which we respond to the politics of emotion. This sharing continues beyond the printed page with a special reading series featuring Wong Kit Yi, David Boyce, Mario Bobbio, Karen Cheung, Tiffany Tam, Lam Tung Pang, and Blessy Man, as hosted by Ysabelle Cheung and Eunice Tsang.

Ysabelle Cheung is a writer and editor. She was formerly the managing editor of ArtAsiaPacific and has written for ArtReview, Hyperallergic, and Artforum. Her fiction can be found on Catapult and Untitled Books.

Eunice Tsang is an artist, producer, writer, and publisher based in Hong Kong. She set up the Artists' Book Library at Tai Kwun Contemporary in 2017, researching and purchasing publications for the ongoing collection. She works as a core member of the BOOKED: organising team and as television producer for Radio Television Hong Kong. In 2019, she founded art publishing press Sulla Fuffa. Her writing has appeared in Time Out Hong Kong and the South China Morning Post.
