Dreamroom Pop-Up Books: A workshop with Tiana Wong

Workshops might be decided by myself—let’s make houses, since the promotional material is there. Through simple pop-up book making techniques, we get to construct our little dream house, with four rooms, each with its story. This is an introductory pop-up book workshop, and the instructor will prepare the necessary material, allowing participants to cut and paste themselves. Through the process, participants will gradually understand the structure of the pop-up book, adding in one’s favoured decoration, and finally creating a work that belongs to oneself.

Tiana Wong, received the Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) from RMIT University (Australia) in 2012, and graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and received the Master of Arts (Fine Art) in 2014. Wong works as an artist, curator, publisher and educator. Passionate in bookbinding, Wong has been striving to integrate the craftsmanship into artistic practice and had pursued advanced training in Japan, Taiwan and Mainland China. She set up her book art studio "Tiana CloudLand" in 2010. She is the founder of independent publication project "eggwich" since 2012, and she is also the founder and chairperson of Hong Kong Miniature Book Association. She organized the first "Hong Kong Book Art Festival" in 2014 and a series of talks, workshop and exhibitions about book art and miniature books in Hong Kong and overseas.
