Built in 1919, the Police Headquarters Block was set out to house the head offices of different departments and provide a comprehensive set of facilities tailored for its multi-ethnic police officers. After the station’s decommissioning, the block is now revitalised to become a network of heritage exhibition venues where visitors converge to enjoy an extensive programme of diverse cultural experiences. The building is the public face of the site, and has been widely known in the neighbourhood as Tai Kwun.
