The famed historical figure General Kwan Yu, also known as Kwan Kung, is the revered guardian of Tai Kwun as well as a major symbol of loyalty and righteousness in our city, worshipped by all walks of life and profession. “Salute to Kwan Kung” is an exhibition about Kwan Kung. Charting the changing influence of this deity from the Three Kingdoms period to contemporary Hong Kong, the show explores how Kwan Kung’s symbolism is deeply embedded in our daily lives, our communities and our disciplinary forces.
