Since its inception on 25 April 2008 under the Development Bureau, the Commissioner for Heritage's Office (CHO) has been engaged in heritage conservation work. In addition to launching a whole host of heritage conservation initiatives, the CHO has since introduced the Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme and the Financial Assistance for Maintenance Scheme on Built Heritage while organising a series of publicity and public education activities. In 2016, CHO launched the Built Heritage Conservation Fund to further advance its work.
